TRN and TEAR-Precision:
Complementary Initiatives in Tear Fluid Research

The Tear Research Network (TRN) and the COST Action TEAR-Precision (CA24112) are closely connected initiatives that share a common goal: to advance tear fluid research, strengthen collaboration across disciplines and borders, and support the translation of tear biomarkers into clinical practice. Both initiatives were founded and are led by Dr. Marlies Gijs (University Eye Clinic Maastricht, The Netherlands). They bring together clinicians, researchers, and industry partners interested in the multifaceted roles of tear fluid in health and disease. Both TRN and TEAR-Precision are open networks — anyone with an interest in tear fluid research is welcome to join at any time.

Join both initiatives to become part of an active and inclusive community shaping the future of tear fluid research — from discovery to clinical practice.

What is COST?

COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is a funding organisation for research and innovation networks. Our Actions help connect research initiatives across Europe and beyond and enable researchers and innovators to grow their ideas in any science and technology field by sharing them with their peers. COST Actions are bottom-up networks with a duration of four years that boost research, innovation and careers.
